Special General Meeting Held

On Wedsnesday 14th Sept a special meeting was held to discuss the changing of our club cap from Black & White quarters, to a plain Black Cap with a white stripe across the centre from front to back and a white band around the edge of the cap. This was proposed because 3 other clubs have a cap identical to our current cap.

It is believed that the change of the cap will give Newcastle SLSC its own identity. There was a vote held on the night resulting with the cap being changed, this was a close vote at 9 votes for and 8 against

Again this year PWC are supporting our club in many ways!!
All NIPPERS will be provided with a long sleeve t-shirt and quick dry cap to ensure sun safe awareness within our club. We have sourced a great supplier that has been able to provide a long sleeve shirt and cap within the allocated budget, however we understand that some families would prefer a broard brim hat.  We are asking that all families who would prefer this to e-mail me ASAP so that we can price this product.taraneal@bigpond.com Please understand that there may be a few $$ that the family may need to pay towards the cost of the BROARD BRIM HAT as it will be more expensive.

The reason a quick dry cap was chosen was because we felt the kids were more likely to wear it consistantly while on the beach and in and out of the water....the duration of Nippers is generally 2hrs and we have tried to cover the SLIP(long sleeve shirt) SLOP (sun cream - to be applied prior to nippers) SLAP (hat) Seek (tents will now be on the beach for the kids not on the hill for spectators) moto...as we are all well aware of the damage the sun can do. We know and understand that fashion isnt everything but we wanted something that would be used and not thrown in the bottom of a bag.
PLEASE e-mail me ASAP so that we can get a price as the BROARD BRIM hat will only be purchased for those who have ordered it- there will be NO extras ordered !!
